What Is A Brand?

A brand is your company's "soul" and "personality". It's how people feel when they interact with your business. Just as we have our own unique set of fingerprints, your brand is your business's fingerprint. A brand represents a company's essence.

It's How Your...

Business is identified and perceived in the marketplace. It's not just your logo, business name or brand colors, but it's what makes your business unique and stand out from the rest.

Think Of It...

Like this: you too are a brand. If I asked your closest family and friends who knew you best, what would they say about you? Are you trustworthy, kind, reliable, bold, playful, assertive, funny, bossy, stubborn, arrogant, etc.? What are your beliefs? What are your values?

The Qualities That...

Make up who you are, is what makes up your personal brand. It's what makes you distinctively you. It's your identity, reputation and values. The same is true when building a business brand.

A Business Is...

An entity, meaning it's an organization that exists apart from you as an individual. Thing is, it's not entirely separate from you. Anything you create has traces of you in it. Although your business has its own identity, it also shares some of your traits and values as well.

For Instance...

Chick-fil-a doesn't operate on Sundays. Why? Because it goes against what the founder, S. Truett Cathy, believed in. The closed Sunday policy is rooted in his Christian faith and belief that the seventh day is considered Holy, in which it should be dedicated to rest, worship and no work.

His Personal...

Beliefs and values carried over to his business because it was created by him. His business was an extension of him, just like your business is an extension of you. The creator will always be found in the creation.

What Is Your Brand Story?

Just like you have a story, your business has one too. How did this business come about? Why does it exist? What is the purpose of your business? To answer these questions, look within. Why do you want to create a business? What makes it different from all the rest?

This Is Where...

You tap into your purpose, passion and your gifts. I created a B.R.A.N.D. framework that you can use to help you get started creating your company brand or product brand.

Belief...

What do you believe you have that no one else has? What can you offer that no one else can? What value do you bring that may be hard to copy?

Remembered...

How is your business remembered? What do customers think about your business? When they talk about your business, what are they saying? What memorable experiences are you creating for your customers? What impression are you leaving on your customer?

Assignment...

What's your business's mission, vision and purpose? What problem are you solving? What is your why, how and what? For reference, search on YouTube Simon Sinek TED Talk 'Start with Why'.

New...

Is your business a new concept or improved upon an already existing one? How does what you do differ or stand out from the rest? What makes your business unique?

Delivery...

What can customers expect when they interact with you and your business? Why do they buy from you? What do they feel when they shop with you? Are you giving them the same experience every single time?

Build Something Amazing My Babies!

Build something that impacts people in such a positive way that they can't forget or deny you. Build a business, build a brand that's memorable. One that outlives you. Build a legacy.

I Really Enjoyed...

Building my brand and I hope this was useful in building your own. It's exciting seeing everything come together. I am in awe of what God is helping me create within my own business and whatever knowledge I have, I'll continue sharing what I'm learning along the way. Here's to more learning, more building, more becoming.

I love you.

Created with you in mind,

Meika
