Yesterday...

I gifted red velvet cake bags to the people in the community. Twelve bags, twelve hearts reached and twelve souls never the same again.

I Dropped...

Off some bags to the women who worked at Burger King off Jake Alexander. Two of the women recognized me and I them. I had gifted them bags before, about a month and a half ago. One of the women told me how much it helped her get through a challenging season that she was in.

She Said...

It was right on time for her. And I couldn't help but feel overjoyed with happiness and gratitude because in that moment, God confirmed that I am doing and being exactly what and who He has called me to do and be.

I'm Not...

Trying to be anyone other than who God created me to be. Sometimes doubt creeps in and I question if this is what I should do. Last night, God answered me through her. To hear it from her lips how much that moment meant to her, is the reason I continue to do this work.

My Feet...

Are prayer in motion. With every bag, I choose to spread seeds of hope, love and kindness throughout this little community that has given me so much. When I say I love yall, I really mean that. With everything in me.

This World...

Is burning, people are suffering, and this is my way of doing something about it. By making a change, starting right here in my community. By meeting purpose & passion with pavement, healing with hunger(spiritual hunger that is), restoration with resources, and soul with service.

There Is...

So much healing power in simply caring for each other. Compassion, empathy, love & kindness is ointment for the soul. Not just for the receiver but also for the giver as well. Russian author Leo Tolstoy said something along the lines, "For nothing enriches the world more than kindness. It makes difficult things easy, dull things joyful, and obscure things clear." Touché Mr. Tolstoy, touché.

I Will...

Continue to illuminate darkness by sharing God's light through service, care, kindness, and love. This is more than cake. This is about preserving human connections collectively and nourishing the heart & soul individually, one slice, one heart, one hug, one thoughtful gesture at a time.

To The...

Ladies in Burger King and to everyone I've served so far and to the ones to come, I love yall. You all are my why. Keep going, keep living, keep becoming, keep being the light.

Shine baby shine!

With love & gratitude,

Meika
